The current Champions League holders progressed despite the major
scare but will be keen to get back to winning ways after a poor run of
form that has seen them drop to second in La Liga behind arch-rivals
Barcelona.
With a trip to the Camp Nou to follow, under-pressure
manager Carlo Ancelotti knows that nothing less than a win will do in
what, on paper, appears a home banker.
The Italian has been back by Florentino Perez, the club president,
and insists that he fully intends to continue in his current role.
"He has always shown me support and affection when things have gone well and when they have gone badly too," he said.
